Why do I write about mythology? The first and foremost reason I ever went in search of mythological resources was simply to learn about dragons. Later on, I countinued because I wished to use them in my writing. Mythology has touched the life and soul of the human race since pre-history. Many of them are very alike. For instance, most-all of the creation myths begin with "the world was chaos" and then the great powers - usually a high god or goddess - changed it into the world. The women of mythology have always facinated me. The goddesses were all well-known. Aphrodite, today, is known as the "Greek goddess of Love" more so that Cupid is known as the "Greek god of Love." Why? Perhaps it is due to the series of Hercules (and the other series of Xena, Warrior Princess) which lead people to learn more. It is important to note, however, that neither Hercules nor Xena is "correct" when it comes to Greek Mythology. For instance, the Amazons were not portrayed correctly. Neither were the centaurs nor the hinds. However, the show is rather entertaining to watch when you are young.
