A Gathering of Merfolk

Darskele

Lian

The gathering here seems to be made mostly of merfolk, although other species swim hither and tither as you go by. This doesn't seem to be a marketplace, for, surely, if it was it would have shops. Rather, it seems like a giant area to hang out, so to speak. There are clumps of rocks that are being used as chairs, and several merfolk seem to be swimming along, as if for a stroll.

"Hey, wanderor! Over here!" a mermaid with a pair of wings waves you over to an area that could be considered a shop, or perhaps an info desk. As small green creature comes out to sniff at you, perhaps checking to mkae sure you're not harmful. Deciding that you are not, it swims back behind the mermaid.

"I am Darskele," she says. "I am here to make sure wanderors don't get lost in the Gathering."

"Gathering?" you ask.

"It is our place for games, entertainment, and community," she says, almost as if she memorized it. "There are a lot of things going on here, so I suggest you make sure that you don't bother anyone." She pats the green creature, which has again appeared. "This is a Drylen, wanderor. His name is Lian. That over there," she points to a large pink creature, "is a Finoli, and her name is Polb. Both do not talk to wanderors or non-mercreatures such as yourself...so don't bother them at all, please. Otherwise, feel free to chat with some of them!"

Polb

Raymhon and KintiniOrlund and Angund

You swim by the Finoli, trying to not scare her. When you are successful, you breath a sigh of relief and decide to talk to some more merfolk. You see a couple with children talking on the rocks, and they look rather happy to see you. You swim over.

"Hey, wanderor!" the mermaid shouts. "I see you've talked to Darskele. Come meet some less angry merfolk." She smiles.

"I am her husband, Orlund. This is our son Angund and our daughter Kintini," says the merman.

"Oh I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Raymhon," she says. "Have you been hearing all the news about the sighting of dolphins?" she asks.

You nod, not wanting to feel left out.

"There are those two in the ocean," Orlund says, "but they moved here. Dangarrod appearently breed another group of dolphins so that they could leave the Wood. It's amazing....some people have been claiming that they've seen them lately. That's rare that is...almost as rare as a wanderor." He winks.
