Castle of the Wood

The Secret Passage Way

Castle Lady

You pass into a dark tower, which spins up and up. You're starting to regret your decision. Yet, you keep going, in hopes of more information. Surely everyone who was telling you to go here wanted you to find out more?

The knight throws open a door which reveals a fair fairy maiden. She is startled to say the least, but she smiles and welcomes you in. "My name is not important, so I hope you pardon my rudeness, wanderor," she says quickly.

She starts speaking quietly, so you have to listen very hard. "There is someone who will give you specific instructions, and of course the Wisdom will teach you much. But you need to also hear this. Fri-on has stolen the princess."

She coughs. "Now, before, this was to help himself be nominated for the Kingship, as he is already married. He would make the perfect king at first sight: He's powerful, he's old, and he knows the Wood. And he has many years left in him."

"Why has he done it this time?" she shakes her head. "There is an ancient magic at work that seals the rulers of this kingdom together. The prince will not marry anyone else but her, so Fri-on is buying himself time. With a rulerless kingdom, Fri-on will have a much easier take over, as the castle will fall to ruins."

She shakes her head. "That is all I can tell you. Go to the Fountains to learn more."

As you leave, she says, "Not that way! Those are closed. Go this way." She points down another secret passage way.
