Before you're even a few feet away from Raith, you see the snake he is talking about. Aethunyc keeps his distance from you, coiling up by a nearby rock. You're definately only a few feet from the valley now, as the sand becomes rockier, the land before it turns green.
"Hey you!" growls a female voice, "Don't buy Aethunyc!"
A blue reptilian creature darts out from behind some rocks and chirps loudly. She doesn't seem entirely threatening, although she could be dangerous. You explain to her you mean him no harm and that you're heading to the valley.
She chirps, "Hey, Jurico! This ones headed for the valley!"
Another reptilian creature (this one has a beak) pokes his head out from the rocks. "Everyone over here is heading to the valley, Culana, or they're heading from it. Give the wanderor a break. It's probably been a long journey."
"A very long one," you say, passing them both. You're just glad you've made it this far. What an idea! Why would anyone want to cross that desert? No wonder people would go around the entire would to not go through it.
"Well, be off then, wanderor," chirps Culana, who goes back into hiding with her kin, Jurico.
