"Oh, hey there wanderor," a drigus says as she approaches you from behind. "Never thought I'd see another one walking towards the mountains."
"Why is that?" you ask politely.
"Well, first of all," she says, "it's an easier walk through the desert to the valley, in my opinion. Second of all, most people will go back through the caves, or all the way around the Wood, just to avoid traveling through this desert."
Before you can respond, another voice is heard. "Hey, Gyrt, don't go scaring off the visitors! Telling them that some bad fate awaits them." You see a blue maned drigus run up to you. "I'm Ossocra, wanderor, good to meet you. And I have to say that as long as you're here with the drigetti, nothing bad will happen to you."
Gyrt smiles, "I suppose you're right, then."
Ossocra doesn't respond to her, but she does look you over before saying, "Wanderor, we haven't seen the likes of you in some time, I'll admit. People don't like to travel through the desert, too hot I guess, but that doesn't mean it's not safe. It's safer than traveling through the mire or the forgotten lands."
"The what?"
She stops and surveys you with her eyes. "If you go to the valley, you can use the underground to get to them, but I don't recommend going. They're unsafe, they are. Far more dangerous than, let's say, this desert."
Gyrt hisses as Ossocra about saying too much, and they both say goodbye to you before turning on their heals and leaving.
