As she hits the thorns, you dodge out of her way and fall over, a bit unhappy with your legs. You see a sort of blue light contain her, as if protecting her. Scared, you get up, looking to see if you can run away in time.
But before you set off, she looks at you and says, "Thank you."
Whatever that blue light was, it seems to have made her herself again. She bows to you and says, "I am Osteir, the Keeper of the dragons. I have two for you here, if you would like them."
You say, a bit confused, "But...but, you just tried to..."
She bows her head sadly and nods. "Not everyone in here is acting out of their own free will. No Keeper, like myself, would ever go to Fri-on's aid. He tried to use us to enslave the abundant races, but that failed quite miserably. He lives in the Wood, so they would not follow him. Instead, since he already had us under his own spells, he used us here as guardians. Of course, because of his own spells, we kept the nature of giving-out creatures. Those thorns I almost died on broke his spell."
She points to the portal. "That will take you to the beginning of the maze. I am sorry that I cannot give you the door way of the castle, for I know that is what you seek. I wish you luck, wanderor."
