You approach the house with blue flowers outside of it and knock on its door. In no time, it seems, it swings outward. A small black, winged feline stands before you, proudly.
"Welcome to the house of the Feline Company," he says loudly, stepping asside and ushering you inside.
You find that nearly everything in here is made for a house cat. There is a human-size bed, although it is covered in cat hair, but the rest of the beds are small and round, obviously for cats. Posts are placed here and there, and there is more than one litter box.
On a table perches a blue feline, who seems to be getting ready to pounce. "I'm Borihil," says the black cat who allowed you to enter. "And that's Hy'ounki'na," he says, "she's always pouncing something."
Sure enough, the feline leaps and lands upon a cat toy shaped like a mouse.
Borihil says, "These three used to be watched by someone else, but she left a while ago and put them under my care. Now, since I am also feline, it's easier for me to communicate with them."
You say, "Three?"
As if they've heard you, two more felines pop out from behind furniture. One of them has red wings, while the other is black with red markings. "Oh yes," says Borihil, "these are the other two hunter cats."
The red-winged feline jumps up, landing on top of Hy'ounki'na. "That one is Kruruttar," says Borihil. "She's always playing with Hy'ounki'na. And mostly losing, at that." He smiles.
The other hunter cat, on the other hand, approaches you slowly. She puts her head to your hand, as if asking to be pet. You pat her, and she mews happily. "And that's Fasil," he says. "Obviously, she's friendly."
Fasil won't leave you alone. It takes you a good ten minutes before you can bit Borihil good-bye.
