The stairs lead to you a large set of doors which have fairies depicted dancing in a ballroom. Your guides press them open for you and point inside, but they do not follow you in. Instead, another fairy stands before you, wearing a mask not unlike some of the fairies in the carving.
"I am Vangal," she says, "weclome to the Great Room, where the Queen of the Island presides over the Island of the Rising Star."
She smiles and waves you onward, and you take in the entire room. Around the edges there are pillars, spaced about ten feet apart, and each set has a stone carving between them. Some of them are canine; others are equine; others are feline; some are fairies or centaurs; all are quite beautiful. Other than that, however, the room is quite empty except for a simple throne at the end of the hall, where you finally see the Queen.
"Ah a wanderor!" she says happily, clapping her hands together. "Please, approach."
She doesn't seem royal, but she does seem very proper. As you approach, she explains to you that each "term" a queen or king is elected to rule. She does not, however, tell you how long a "term" is, and you do not ask.
You stand a few feet away from her, you introduce yourself and bow. She seems delighted.
The Queen says, "I have a challenge that only a wanderor can complete, if you wish. You must answer three of my questions. If you get them all right, you get a prize. Miss one, however, and you will not get anything. So, would you like to try it? You don't have to, of course, sometimes the questions are a bit hard for those who don't live on the island..."
She waits for your answer, quietly.
