Before you continue, Vorend stops and turns to you. "We are now going to meet the Mutts. They're the original reason this kennel was created. You see, there used to be this place call the Saviory, but when it was attacked all the creatures had to find a new home. That's when the Queen offered them a home here. There are many of them. Come."
You find four dogs, all rather different looking, in one room. The first Vorend introduces as Dixana, and the brown one next to her as Kentharo. "They're mates. Dixana was the first here, and she was the first in the wood."
She smiles. "There is a plaque with all their information on it at the end, but you should probably meet them all first."
"Why don't you come in, Vorend?" a male voice asks. The speaker is grey with red markings. "Dally and I would love to meet a wanderor."
You make to enter, but you are stopped by her arm.
Vorend sighs. "Sorry, Elemano, we don't have time. We have to go meet the rest of the mutts, you know? And as given how many of you there are..." she stops, probably not feeling it necessary to finish.
The last canine, who must be Dally, walks up to the window and smiles. "Good to see a wanderor again. We used to get a lot before the Saviory went, but now we mostly see the trainers and caretakers." She adds as an afterthought, "And they're not so bad."
Not knowing how to respond to this, you smile and introduce yourself. They all seem rather impressed with a wanderor coming all the way to the palace to meet them.
Dally says, "There are forty of us total, I think, on the last count that is. But our kind are lost in the world...there aren't many of us left."
Elemano snorts. "Don't be silly. We're an abundant race compared to some!"
