You find yourself climbing stairs, and you give Vorend a quick look of curiosity. She nods at you and explains, "Well, there are far to many canines here for just one floor, and this entire wing has more than one story on it, so why not expand the rooms and have them on multiple levels? The dogs with better endurance would go on the top, of course."
"Ahh, this room we shouldn't enter, as these four are being trained as hunting hounds and are not to be visited. But we can look at them without seeing us." She looks over, "Those first two are a mated pair, Scrana and Mudiu."
You see two more mutts, these two obviously more rugged than the others. Vorend says, "They're also a mated pair, Eemana is the black one, and Keila is the brown one. She's pretty mutated, and we don't know why, but she's an excellent tracker."
You ponder, "What are they trained to hunt?"
"Well, birds and other common game, mostly. Although I remember a time when the Queen had a tracking dog trained to find her at any time. It was a safety procaution, of course, but you could imagine how annoying it would be..."
"Annoying?" you ask.
She nods. "If you wanted some time to yourself and the same people would just grab your tracking dog to find you reading in a secluded spot!" She laughs. "Yes, that has happened before..."
