You step out into the sunlight; now the valley's path is completely devoid of trees. You find, however, two creatures flying around right outside the brush. They look like each other, yet they are very different in pigment. The first is very dark, and he is the one who speaks first.
"I am Opal Beginnings," he says, "and I see you've come this far. Are you sure you really want to go there?" He jabs his tail at the end of the path, which turns into a tunnel that you can see slopes downward.
"I've come this far," you say. "Besides, what other choice do I have?"
"Ruby can help you," he says. "We can send you back to the beginning of the valley, and you can chose to go a different direction."
"Magic?" you ask.
"No," he laughs. "A short cut."
The red creature ruffles her wings. "Yes, just go that'a way," she points left, "and you can cut across right back to the beginning of the valley."
"Why didn't someone show me that before?" you ask, a bit upset.
Both of them look at each other and shrug. "Not too many people notice it, to be honest. I'm Ruby Guidance by the way."
You introduce yourself at last, thanking them for all of their information about the valley. They both seem rather happy you've visited them. Ruby says, "Good luck, wanderor. We both wish you well in your travels."
Opal says, "And keep your eyes open in the underground! There are lots of people about there."
