Title

The Virtuous Valley

Thietan

You keep going in the valley, noticing that the brush can't seem to decide if it wants to be thick or thin. You trudge on, wondering why everyone is so nervous when you mention that you only want to visit the volcano. You don't walk far, however, when you nearly walk headlong into a large blue canine with wings.

"You ought to be more careful when you're walking," she says mildly. "Some Telle Dainye would pounce on someone who came so close without an introduction."

Picking up the hint, you take a few steps back and introduce yourself. She looks you over and asks why you're heading towards the volcano. You reply, explaining yourself. She still looks worried.

"If I were you," she says, "I'd walk clear around that thing to the Mountains."

"Why?" you ask.

She looks around, as if trying to see if someone else is around. "The volcano is not a volcano like you may know them. There is hot lava flowing inside of it, but it's magical. It's meant for seek-heating creatures. You know, like lizards and such, that need the warmth. But it's dangerous, because if you don't mind your step..." her voice trails off. "What am I talking about? I've never been myself... but I have warned you, remember that..."
