As you walk on, you notice that bunches of animals seem to move together, as if they are a small herd. They all seem to be very energetic. As you walk, a shadow falls over you, and the large, heavy body of something in the sky falls down and lands feet in front of you.
"Hault," comes a deep, male voice.
You obey and stop. You look at the creature properly, and it takes a lot of effort to prevent you from laughing. He is large and green, with heavy, shaggy fur, and curved horns. Yet, he also has a bit of hair over his eyes and white, angel-like wings. He looks rather un-frightening to you.
He looks up from under his tuft of hair and says, "I am Herlaulot. I am glad you've come to meet my family, but it's rather rude to just walk up to them, you know?"
You look around and see no others like him, nor anything in particular in the area. "Sorry," you say, and you introduce yourself. You also explain how you got here, but you leave out the part about not knowing about his family.
After you've finished, another large creature lands next to him. She is very similar, but she is yellow and scruffier than he is. "Aha!" she says dramatically when she lands. "A wanderer! My name's Traurs. I see you met my husband."
The two silly-looking creatures bow and then step aside. "I see you've come to meet our family," says Traurs, "I am so glad. They like company. And, with us flying overhead, we don't scare away as many people as we did before, you know?"
You nod along, not really know what is going on. However, they stop in front of a small crevice between two hills, and you realize why you didn't see their family before. It is comprised of them and many small ponies that are well-hidden by the hills.
Herlaulot smiles and says, "Onox, Sapho, Cecee, Oronx! I want you to meet this wanderer who came to visit you!"
At once, all of the ponies race over to see you. Two of them are rather small ponies. The third is a pegasus, but also rather small compared to all the others. The final one is the same size as the pegasus, but is also a pony.
One of the smaller ponies is carrying what seems to be a paint brush, while the other is pulling a small basket full of flowers. You see immediately that some of them are painted, which explains the paint brush at least. All of them stop a few feet in front of you and start talking wildly at once.
"Now now," says Truars, "why not introduce yourselves?"
"I'm Cecee," squeaks the Pegasus first.
"And I'm Ornox," says the largest of the three ponies, who is slightly grey.
"I'm Sapho," cries the pony pulling the basket.
The final one is quiet and doesn't say anything, but after a few moments Sapho says, "And that's Onox. She won't let go of that paint brush."
And, at that, all of them start talking widely again. Both Herlaulot and Traurs try to quiet them down, but to no avail. Finally, both of them turn to you and say, "Well, wanderer, thanks for coming... you should go now."
