You're almost at the tree line before you think you ought to heed the gryphon's advice. You're about to turn on your heel when a large creature lands in front of you. His teal scales, his glowing eyes, and his long, slender wings catch your attention.
"Go now," he says, in a low rumbling voice.
You ask, "What?"
He looks you over and says, "You should not go any closer to the rainforest than this. I will not let you. You must go to the gates." He points his nose at the elven fortress. "Go now, or I shall block you till you do."
You explain to him that you were about to leave, and then you introduce yourself. To your surprise, his expression softens slightly.
"It is good to know," he says slowly, "than wanderors of this Wood still listen to those that live within it. Thank you, wanderor. Please go now." He pauses. "My name is Veoran, by the way."
