As you walk into the clearing, you can instantly see that it is a sort of crossroad with the path splitting off into different sections. It also seems to be a thorough fair, since there are many footprints of all kinds, which was not so on most of the path. Overhead, the trees have cleared so you can see straight up into the sky!
Looking up, you see a small, rather orange shape zooming downward toward you. You step back into the shadows, away from the clearing, not knowing what kind of animal would zoom into the jungle.
Noiselessly, a small animal lands, prancing around in a circle. In a moment, you realize it is nothing more or less than a small, orange tabby cat with wings. He doesn't seem the least bit upset by your prescene, so you approach him and introduce yourself.
"Seriously?" comes a laughing voice from behind you. "Did you just introduce yourself to Drien?"
You turn and are met by the strangest sight you could imagine. A two legged animal with a long, water-animal-like tail comes out from behind the path's walls. Red, blue, and purple, he looks quite strange in the dark, green jungle.
You introduce yourself again and explain how you've gotten here. He seems rather unimpressed.
"Drien, over there, is a Moon Cat, and Moon Cats don't care," he says, as if you should have known this all along. He clears his throat and makes a funny noise that echos in the general area. "Why don't you meet some folks who care and can understand you, wanderer?"
Sure enough, in a few moments, you can hear scurrying and movement from within the brambles. You wait, curious...
There is a funny sound, the same sound the first arrival made, and a small, blue creature pops out from the bushes. He looks around mischeviously, then rolls towards you in a ball, stopping right at your feet before getting up and running over to Drien. Drien looks interested for a moment, but then he steps back.
"Dont..." says the first creature you've met. He's too late. The new comer pounces on Drien, making him hiss and spew with anger before zipping back up in the sky.
"Aww, he's never any fun," says the blue creature.
"Jasior...I thought I told you..." growls the other.
Jasior, however, smiles at you and runs to sit down at your feet. "Hi!" he yells, as if you wouldn't be able to understand. "I see you've met Hoveppa here!"
Another softer, calmer voice says, "Jasior, I'm sure the wanderer can hear you. No need to yell."
At the same time, all three of you turn towards another opening in the brambles, where a small red creature has popped her head out. "Nice to meet you, traveler! I'm Grigon, and I'm glad to see a few more people using the crossroads."
Hoveppa makes a hissing noise, but Grigon comes out and joins Jasior. "Don't mind him, he thinks we should keep everything a secret. Anyway, the jungle has three major exits: the mountains, the fountains, and the meadows. If you go left, you'll hit the meadows, if you go right, you should hit the mountains. The fountains are somewhere in the middle... I'm actually not sure if you can get there from the jungle."
Jasior takes this moment to pounce on Hoveppa, who twapps him away and growls at him. "I think it's time for us to go home."
As you walk away, you distinctly here Jasior say, "Spoilsport" and Hoveppa say, "Secret spoiler."
